Foggy Double Pane Window Glass Replacement in Northeast Georgia

Do your double-pane windows look cloudy, foggy, or difficult to see through?

When the seal around a double-pane insulated glass unit fails, moisture can enter between the panes and create fog, condensation, or a cloudy appearance that cannot be cleaned away. Some failed units may also develop a purple or rainbow appearance as the Low-E coating begins to deteriorate.

Southern Glass Solutions replaces failed insulated glass units throughout Northeast Georgia. We replace the damaged double-pane glass unit inside your existing window frame, helping restore a clear view without replacing the entire window.

Signs Your Double-Pane Window Has Failed

Here are three common signs that an insulated glass unit may need to be replaced.

Fogged Sash_edited.jpg

The window looks cloudy, milky, or difficult to see through, even after both sides of the glass have been cleaned.

Cloudy or Hazy Glass

Fog or Condensation That Comes and Goes

A failed unit may look worse on cool or humid days and appear clearer when the glass warms up. The changing appearance does not mean the seal has repaired itself. Moisture is still trapped between the panes.

Streaked Window_edited.jpg

Purple, Rainbow, or Streaked Appearance

The window looks cloudy, milky, or difficult to see through, even after both sides of the glass have been cleaned.

Once moisture is trapped between the panes, it cannot be cleaned from the inside or outside of the window. The failed insulated glass unit must be replaced to restore a clear view.

Glass-only replacement

You May Not Need to Replace the Entire Window

A foggy double-pane window does not always mean the entire window needs to be replaced.

If the existing frame is still in good condition, Southern Glass Solutions can remove the failed insulated glass unit and install a new factory-sealed unit inside the existing window frame. The replacement glass is custom manufactured to fit the opening and match the surrounding windows as closely as possible.

This allows us to replace the part that failed while keeping the existing window frame, trim, and surrounding materials in place.

Custom Glass Built to Match Your Existing Windows

Every replacement insulated glass unit is custom manufactured to fit your existing window.

We match the following details as closely as possible:

       Overall insulated-glass thickness

       Low-E coating

       Grid pattern and color

Tempered safety glass when required or recommended

       Privacy glass options

       Decorative glass options

We match the Low-E coating to the existing windows to the best of our ability. An exact color match is not always possible because Low-E coatings can change in appearance as they age and deteriorate. Older products, grid styles, and glass options may also no longer be available.

Before ordering your glass, we will explain the closest available match and any options you can choose from.
